Part VII

Chapter 37: Steps into Infinity — The Dragon’s Plunge

Estimated reading time: 9 min

Block B — Tier 3 / High Intensity High intensity practice. Enter sober, with aftercare in place and the ability to re-ground within 2 minutes. Stop immediately if dissociation occurs.

ABORT PROTOCOL — USE IMMEDIATELY IF NEEDED
If you feel panic, dizziness, or dissociation at any point:

  1. OPEN YOUR EYES. Break the trance immediately.
  2. STOMP YOUR FEET (OR PRESS FIRMLY INTO THE FLOOR). Bring attention to strong, clear physical sensation.
  3. NAME THREE OBJECTS OUT LOUD. “Chair. Lamp. Window.”
  4. If the experience feels foggy, numb, or paralyzed (signs of Dissociation/Freeze) rather than spacious and clear, STOP. This is a trauma response, not the Void.
  5. DO NOT CONTINUE THE PRACTICE. Shift fully to Tier 1 Grounding: squeeze muscles, drink cold water, or press your feet firmly into the floor. Return only to the somatic regulation tools you trust.

Crucial Distinction: The Void vs. Dissociation

Because this practice invites a softening of the self, there is a profound risk for those with trauma histories to mistake Dissociation (a survival response) for the Void (a state of expanded presence).

Entering the Void is an expansion; Dissociation is a collapse. To practice safely, learn to tell the difference.

Safe Contact Through Your Void Body:

  • Texture: You feel spacious, clear, vast, crystalline.
  • Body Awareness: You can still feel your anchor (feet, hands, breath) even if they feel distant.
  • Agency: You feel capable of opening your eyes or moving if you choose to.
  • After-effect: You return feeling resourced, rested, or awestruck.

Signals to Stop:

  • Texture: You feel dissociated, foggy, blurry, numb, heavy, or “gray.”
  • Body Awareness: You cannot feel your feet; you feel severed from the neck down; you feel like you are floating away against your will.
  • Agency: You feel paralyzed, stuck, or sleepy in a way that feels like “checking out.”
  • After-effect: You return feeling drained, confused, or fragmented.

If you find Fog, Numbness, or Paralysis, stop the meditation immediately. Open your eyes, engage Tier 1 Grounding, and return only to the somatic regulation tools you trust. This is respect, not failure.

Before attempting this journey, reconfirm Tier 3 readiness using the Preface’s Serene Center agreements and Three-Tier Readiness Net. Make sure you can re-ground within 2 minutes, review relevant medical and psychological contraindications from this Part and the Checklists and Materials appendix, and establish abort and aftercare plans in advance, including who will be contacted if dysregulation persists. If needed, consult your doctor. Do not proceed against medical advice.

MEDICAL/LEGAL CAUTION — Lithium
Lithium + psychedelics can cause seizures or death. If you are taking Lithium, do not combine it with psychedelics, and do not proceed without physician-supervised medical guidance. This is not spiritual bypass; it is biological reality.

This is the Dragon’s Plunge: a threshold beyond the confines of the known, where the familiar self can loosen and the field can widen.

Step lightly. Do not approach this as a task to be finished, but as a threshold that asks for patience.

If chakra language is not your map, treat the names and colors as optional waypoints in a simple upward scan (feet → belly → heart → brow → crown → space above); follow sensation over imagery.

Phases 1 and 2 are complete practices on their own. Do not move higher until anchoring and ignition feel steady and repeatable.

Hold the arc in one breath: Form anchors you; Eros warms you; Soul opens you; Archetypal vastness widens you; the threshold between archetypal vastness and formless stillness shimmers at the limit of the Void.

Crossing the threshold, the traveler may feel as if they are dissolving into the Void—the formless source beneath story and name. The sense of separate self can thin or even fall away, leaving vast, unbounded awareness. The Void can feel like a silent, vibrant fullness—presence without objects, potential without form.

Phase 1: Anchoring (The Form Body)

Begin by gently drawing awareness into your Form Body—this tangible, sacred temple. Feel yourself as a specific manifestation of the Firmament, rooted in the primal pulse.

The Roots

  • Sense: Center your attention at the base of the spine.
  • Color/Tone: A deep, primal Red. Heavy. Vibrant.
  • Visualize: Thick, energetic roots unfurling from your tailbone and feet, sinking through the floor, weaving through layers of soil and stone.
  • Connect: Lock into the Earth Star (below the feet). Feel the magnetic hum of the core rising through the roots to meet you, faint in the bones, ancient and protective.
  • The Anchor: “I am held. I am solid. I am here.”

(Do not proceed until you can feel at least one clear anchor—weight in the hips, feet on the floor, hands, or breath. If “gravity” doesn’t register, choose another anchor.)

Phase 2: Igniting (The Eros Body)

The Dragon stirs. Invite the Primal Serpent—the raw force of your own vitality—to uncoil and rise. Let the warmth melt the rigidity of the ego.

The Sacral (Pelvis/Gut)

  • Sense: Bring awareness to the space below the navel.
  • Color/Tone: Radiant Orange. Fluid. Warm.
  • Feel: The iridescent scales of the inner Dragon shimmering. The waters of creativity melting the ice of control.
  • The Breath: Inhale warmth, exhale tension.

The Solar Plexus (Will)

  • Sense: Lift awareness to the center above the navel.
  • Color/Tone: Brilliant Gold. A sun igniting.
  • Feel: Dragon’s Fire gathering in the rising inner current. Let the warmth move through the belly and ribs, burning away self-doubt like shadow before dawn. Align your will with the infinite potential of the Firmament.
  • The Breath: Inhale power, exhale smallness.

The Heart (Bridge)

  • Sense: Move awareness to the center of the chest.
  • Color/Tone: Emerald Green. A golden nova expanding.
  • Feel: The bridge between the primal and the divine. A tide of unconditional love connecting you to the vast network of life.
  • The Breath: Inhale expansion, exhale barriers.

The Throat (Voice)

  • Sense: Bring awareness to the hollow of the neck.
  • Color/Tone: Vivid Blue. Resonant. Clear.
  • Feel: The rising Serpent nears the place where the Dragon’s roar meets the Void’s whisper. Dissolve the fear of judgment.
  • The Breath: Inhale truth, exhale silence.

The Third Eye (Sight)

  • Sense: Lift awareness to the point between the eyebrows.
  • Color/Tone: Indigo. Crystalline. Sharp.
  • Feel: The veil lifting. Witness the fractal threads of the Entangled Firmament shimmering behind the surface of things.
  • The Breath: Inhale clarity, exhale illusion.

(Checkpoint: If you feel ungrounded or dizzy here, return to Phase 1. Do not go higher.)

Phase 3: Ascent (The Soul & Archetypal Bodies)

The personal self softens like mist. You are no longer a single point, but a current in the cosmic ocean. The Dragon lifts you outward.

The Crown & Soul Star

  • Sense: The top of the head and the space just above it.
  • Color/Tone: Violet merging into Blinding White.
  • Feel: The Lotus opening. The luminous continuity of your soul—ancient, spacious, spanning what can feel like lifetimes.
  • The Shift: The boundaries of the skull can feel as if they dissolve. Phenomenology shifts from container to open sky.

The Galactic Expansion

  • Sense: Expanding outward into the stars.
  • Color/Tone: Swirling Cosmic Blue and Gold.
  • Feel: The roots of Yggdrasil plunging into mystery. You may feel touched by archetypal vastness—a conscious participant in the weaving of worlds.
  • The Resonance: “I move with the weave.”

Somatic Checkpoint — Regulate Before the Threshold: Wiggle your toes. Feel the weight of your tongue in your mouth. Confirm you feel steady before visualizing the Gateway. If you cannot feel your toes, open your eyes and stop. Return to grounding.

Phase 4: The Threshold (The Event Horizon)

Guided by the Cosmic Dragon, you approach the shimmering edge of the Void. The place where the map ends.

The Gateway

  • Visualize: An event horizon. A black hole rimmed with iridescent light, the last edge of shape before silence.
  • Perception: The final gravity. The invitation to release the Archetype, the Story, and the Name as they thin at the rim.
  • The Fear: The ego may tremble here. Honor it; this is your survival software doing its job. Think of an event horizon: your models reach their limits and familiar intuitions fail.
  • The Choice:
    • If the fear is too strong: Bow, thank the threshold, and descend.
    • If you are ready: Surrender into the fire.

Phase 5: Immersion (Toward the Void Through the Void Body)

Crossing the threshold through the Void Body. The Dragon merges with the silence until it can feel as if there is no observer left to watch.

The Plunge

  • Action: Release the image. Let the breath release on its own. Drop, not into nothing, but into a fullness too quiet for object or name.
  • Experience:
    • A fullness without objects.
    • The pregnant silence before the first word, as if all form were waiting inside it.
  • Rest: Briefly, with the body anchor still available.

During practice, stay with the felt sense of the Void—formless, source. Avoid identity claims; let descriptions remain provisional.

(Remain here only while clarity stays intact and return still feels easy. There is no prize for staying longer.)

Phase 6: The Return (Re-Embodiment)

The most critical phase. The Dragon remembers its form. Bring the infinite back into the finite.

The Turn

  • Intent: “I return to form.”
  • Visual: The Dragon guides you back through the Gateway.

The Descent (The Zipper)

  1. Soul Star: Reclaim your intention. The light condenses.
  2. Third Eye → Throat → Heart: The lights turn back on. Clarity. Voice. Love.
  3. Solar → Sacral: Will. Feeling. Vitality returns to the tissue.
  4. Root: Lock in. Feel the hips heavy on the cushion.

The Re-Entry Burn

Just as a spacecraft generates immense heat when re-entering the atmosphere, returning from the Void to the density of the Form Body creates friction. You may feel heat, heaviness, or a sudden “compression” of awareness. This is not a mistake; it is the friction of consciousness condensing back into form. Breathe the spaciousness into the density.

The Anchor

  • Sense: The Earth Star (below the feet).
  • Action: Send the energy down. Deep. Heavy. Magnetic.
  • Sensation: Feel gravity. Feel the floor. Feel the weight of your hands.
  • Physicality: Wiggle toes. Rub palms together. Squeeze muscles.
  • Open Eyes: Name three objects immediately.

Integration Protocol

Do not skip this. You have traveled far; you must land.

  1. Hydrate: Drink a full glass of water to signal the body you are back.
  2. Eat: Something dense (protein, root vegetables).
  3. Silence: Do not look at a screen for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Record: Write the raw sensations in your journal.

Do not analyze yet. Just capture the texture of the journey.
