Glossary of Key Terms

The vocabulary formally adopted by Path of the Dragon: its frameworks, ethical distinctions, archetypal roles, and principal practice terms. Definitions are local to this work unless an entry names a source. Scientific, mythic, and contemplative correspondences preserve different kinds of claim; none proves another domain.

The Glossary of Extended Reference Terms supplies context for borrowed vocabulary. These entries support lookup; the chapters and practice appendices carry the full teaching and protocols.

Psychology, Personality, Consciousness & Neurobiology

Accountability: Ownership of conduct and impact, including unintended harm, expressed through truthful acknowledgement, repair where possible, and changed behaviour. See also: Radical Responsibility, Repair.

Architecture of Avoidance: Defences that protect a preferred self-image from unflattering truth and the labour of change. Intent as a Shield is one such defence. See also: Shadow Work.

Authenticity: Changing expression anchored in stable principle. Values, bodily signals, conduct, and consequence test authenticity more deeply than wearing the same face everywhere. See also: Integrity, Sovereignty.

Clean Boundaries: The internal distinction between admitting a shadow feeling and permitting harmful behaviour. It allows honest contact with anger, envy, or desire without suppression or acting out. See also: Shadow, Accountability.

Clean Severance: An ethical ending when continued contact requires coercion, self-betrayal, or surrender of reality. An unsafe encounter can end immediately. Responsibility for one’s own harm remains and can be addressed afterward through safer means, without renewed direct contact. See also: Reality Tether, Repair.

Conscious Agent (Everfolding): Within the speculative Everfolding Ontology, 𝒜 is a local point at which 𝓕 beholds itself: an embodied witness-participant within the field. Its attention and action shape local possibilities without granting omnipotence or certifying other worlds. See also: Everfolding Ontology.

The Conscious Fold: A deliberate, coherent local shift through attention, valuation, or action that changes what becomes reachable next. It expresses FRA’s Action step. Interrupting a habitual script is one entry, not a prerequisite for every Fold. In the Everfolding cosmogram, it becomes a conscious agent’s local recursive update. De-iteration: A conscious pause that interrupts a habitual script, admitting fresh information and a different action. It increases contact with body, context, and choice; avoidance and dissociation withdraw from that contact. See also: The Conscious Fold.

Embodiment: Insight becoming lived reality in posture, breath, reflex, tone, movement, and relationship. See also: Integration, Five Energetic Bodies.

Energetic Armor: The image for protective habits explored in The Soul’s Armor: seeking worth through admiration, pursuing contact under fear, controlling uncertainty, or withdrawing from contact. These actions need context and can change; they do not sort people into types or diagnoses.

Fragmentation: Memories, emotions, identities, or sensations split from ordinary awareness, often under overwhelm. Resourced integration reconnects differentiated parts; repeated reinforcement can also consolidate the split. See also: Integration, Law of Integration.

Generous Interpretation: Considering plausible explanations besides malice for one difficult event while retaining evidence, boundaries, and recognition of repeated harm. See also: Boundaries.

Grounding: Orienting to body, place, and present time to stabilize state and widen capacity. See also: Somatic Triad.

golden thread: Witnessing attention as it moves through the Five Energetic Bodies. It neither owns identity nor creates memory, and it is not another body. See also: Soul Body.

Individuation: In Jungian language, lifelong integration of unconscious material toward wholeness. Here it also names becoming distinct enough to meet others without self-erasure. See also: Shadow Work, Boundaries.

Integrity: Congruence among owned, reality-answerable, life-serving values, words, and deeds. Consistency in harm does not meet this standard. See also: Authenticity, Coherence.

Integration: Deliberate aftercare, discernment, selection, and embodiment following experience. Practice can redirect reinforcement but can also consolidate distortion; good intention guarantees neither healing nor maturity. The Law of Integration names consolidation itself, not this deliberate practice.

Intent as a Shield: Stated intention used to minimize or evade the impact of an action, protecting self-image at accountability’s expense. See also: Architecture of Avoidance, Prism of Impact.

Karpman Drama Triangle: Stephen Karpman’s transactional-analysis model of switching among Victim, Persecutor, and Rescuer roles.1 It helps track a change of position within an exchange, such as helping that turns into blame and then grievance. A role in the model is not a verdict on whether someone has been harmed. For a worked example and limits, see Chapter 33.

Paradox: Apparent opposites held without premature resolution, allowing a larger pattern to disclose itself without guaranteeing that one will. See also: Dragon.

Pendulation: In Somatic Experiencing, paced movement of attention between activation and a felt resource, without forced exposure. See also: Titration, Somatic Experiencing.

Radical Responsibility: Ownership of thoughts, feelings, choices, conduct, and impact within the limits of one’s agency. Systems and other people remain real causes and bear their own responsibilities. See also: Proportional Responsibility.

Resilience: Capacity to absorb disruption and reorganize toward functioning and integration. It develops through lived recovery rather than requiring a return to the former self. Growth after trauma remains neither owed nor guaranteed.

self-presence: Ordinary contact with oneself, body, and the wider field. The Spectrum of Self-Presence maps this capacity; the term itself names no additional framework.

Serene Center: Power integrated with regulation: an ethical, embodied anchor at the crossing of vertical depth and horizontal life. Its high capacity and low friction are distinct from numbness or cold detachment. See also: Axis of Being.

Shadow (Jung): Personality material that conscious identity does not recognize or own. The book’s Shadow remains the archive of disowned wounds, desires, harmful capacities, and gifts. An archetype’s “Shadow” names its distorted expression. Integrated material retains its Shadow provenance. The Dragon in the cave guards this unflattering encounter. See also: Shadow Work.

Shadow Work: Bringing disowned material into conscious relationship and accountability. Insight begins the work; resourced integration, changed conduct, and time give it consequence. See also: Individuation, Architecture of Avoidance.

Somatic Intelligence: Reading bodily signals as information for choice. They can veto pace or participation, but cannot alone settle facts, meaning, another person’s safety, or ethics. Capacity can appear through settling, rhythm, bracing, load, or deliberate effort; softness is not its only form. See also: Form Body.

Somatic Triad: A foundational loop: lengthen the exhale, orient to the room, and anchor attention in one concrete sensation until it steadies. See also: Grounding.

Titration: Approaching activation in small, manageable increments in Somatic Experiencing and related practices. See also: Pendulation, Somatic Experiencing.

Trust: Earned confidence in consistency, integrity, and care, built through respected boundaries and credible action. A demand for trust cannot establish it. See also: Trust Inventory, Accountability.

Trust Inventory: Distinguishes sincerity, reliability, competence, and care so a rupture becomes specific enough to assess. Assessment does not require continued trust or contact. See also: Repair Protocol.

Two Minds Within: Two cooperating modes within one distributed mind: analytic, story-building attention and contextual, holistic attention. The distinction is a heuristic, not two selves or a clean left/right-hemisphere division. Storyteller’s Throne is the accompanying image for how partial experience becomes a continuous self-story.

Uncomputable / the Computation: A contemplative pair: the Computation names rule-bound, patterned processes; the Uncomputable names felt depths such as qualia, grace, forgiveness, novelty, and the sacred that exceed finite capture. Here the Divine names reality’s inexhaustible unclosure. These are source-language images, not technical results or an object placed beyond science. See also: Everfolding Ontology.

The Wound as Interface / Sacred Glitch: Mythic language for rupture where lived difference meets rigid systems and opens possible reorganization toward integrity. Neurodivergence, breakdown, or refusal can interrupt the “Computation”; this possibility does not sanctify suffering. See also: Uncomputable / the Computation.

Physics, Cosmology & Framework Concepts

Bounded Infinity: The contemplative possibility that actual infinity expresses through finite form. A boundary gives local contour and access without containing or exhausting the infinite. Mathematical examples remain literal; the metaphysical extension remains optional, not empirically proven. See also: Field of Potential.

Computation: Rule-driven information transformation, explored as a speculative lens rather than declared reality’s substrate. See also: Uncomputable / the Computation, Ruliad.

Dark Entangled: The hidden dimension of the Entangled Firmament: unknown conditions, ancestral and systemic influences, and source-adjacent latency not yet legible within the field. It exceeds personal shadow but remains distinct from the Void itself. See also: Entangled Firmament, Void.

Dynamic Emergence: Patterns arising through interaction, conditions, and history. Emergence is morally neutral; order, complexity, benefit, and progress are not prerequisites. See also: Entangled Firmament.

Entangled Firmament: The book’s central cosmological framework: a dynamic, participatory field whose four pillars are Interconnectedness, Dynamic Emergence, Participatory Reality, and Bounded Infinity. The Dark Entangled names their hidden counterpart. The Five Energetic Bodies offer its lived microcosmic mirror.

Everfolding Ontology (𝓕 / ℛ / 𝒜 / Folds): The structurally central final cosmogram in The Dragon’s Everfolding Ontology, a speculative synthesis whose literal metaphysics remain optional. The Grand Fractal (𝓕) is its most expansive image of Divine plenitude: eternal, infinite-dimensional recursive generativity. Here, infinite-dimensional names the possibility of nested orders with no final ceiling, each opening additional dimensions or independent degrees of freedom. This proper name exceeds visible self-similar traces; the Divine exceeds the image without requiring a realm outside 𝓕.

The cosmogram transforms Wolfram’s singular Ruliad into ℛ, the generative sieve whose active rule-constraint gives local form, history, and consequence.2 𝒜, the conscious agent, arises within the world rendered through ℛ and meets lived Folds. None stands outside the whole to select it.

Hidden conditions can become legible through the Dark Entangled; irreducible unfolding can remain lawful within ℛ. The deeper wager is that ℛ cannot exhaust its source: novelty takes local form without requiring intervention from outside reality or a violation of local rule. Eros names possibility leaning toward form, not evolution pursuing a predetermined goal.

At the summit, 𝓕, ℛ, 𝒜, and Folds become orientations within one Möbius Manifold, not separate substances. The Void retains its apophatic source-language; 𝓕 supplies the recursive symbolic image. Field of Potential: Possibilities arising from the Void before specific manifestation, distinct from both formless source and the manifested Entangled Firmament. In the Everfolding lens, it is the accessible face or threshold rendering of 𝓕.

Field–Resonance–Action (FRA): Sense the field, feel its resonance across the Five Energetic Bodies, and choose one ethical action from the Serene Center. Observable consequences enter the next Field; the same three-move loop begins again. See also: The Conscious Fold.

Fractal Holography: The book’s synthesis of self-similar pattern and holographic reconstructability. The Five Energetic Bodies mirror larger patterns and carry structured traces through which those patterns become legible. A finite boundary gives reconstructive access without containing the whole. See also: Fractals, Isomorphism.

Fractal Resonance: The capstone contemplative model of a self-similar, participatory field: patterns rhyme across body, psyche, relationship, and cosmos without becoming identical. A change in one “octave” can affect others through actual relations, as a bodily response alters action and relationship.

Correspondence establishes neither one causal mechanism across domains nor guaranteed coherence. Each retains its evidence, constraints, and consequences; a common source remains a contemplative possibility. FRA expresses local participation through deliberate choices; the Law of Integration names consolidation through reinforcement. See also: Field–Resonance–Action (FRA), Law of Integration.

Holographic Gardener: Mature tending of local boundary, pattern, and field so the larger image becomes more faithfully reconstructible through one life. A vocation of fidelity, not a status to claim. See also: Fractal Holography.

Interconnectedness: Nothing exists in isolation. Relation makes impact unavoidable without erasing boundaries or equalizing responsibility. See also: Entangled Firmament.

Isomorphism: A structure-preserving mapping between systems. The preserved relationship must be stated; resemblance alone warrants analogy, not this stronger term. See also: Fractal Holography.

Law of Integration: The morally neutral consolidation principle: “What is reinforced becomes integrated. What is integrated reinforces itself.”

Repeated embodied reinforcement stabilizes skills, habits, or defences. Neural learning, relational habits, and contemplative patterning retain distinct causal explanations. Reflection can interrupt blind reinforcement and permit conscious selection; deliberate integration practice can still be done well or badly. Reinforcement deepens either Asha or Druj. Living Fractal: The book’s metaphor for self-similar patterns recurring across body, psyche, relationship, culture, and cosmos, with deliberate choices changing the loop from within. See also: Fractal Resonance.

Möbius Manifold: A topological metaphor for apparent opposites becoming orientations of one continuous reality: beginning and end, inside and outside, self and world. In a life story, later understanding can change what an event means without changing what happened or making the suffering necessary or deserved. See also: Everfolding Ontology.

Participatory Reality: Awareness shapes what becomes legible, felt, meaningful, and actionable, helping constitute the lived world from which a person acts. Participation influences reality without creating or controlling it all. See also: Entangled Firmament.

Patterns: Recurring configurations of behaviour, relationship, energy, and meaning. Recognizing recurrence helps connect events without making their causes identical. See also: Fractal Resonance, Spiral Path.

Recursion: A rule, pattern, or process folding back through itself, each turn shaping the next. It can generate fractal traces without exact repetition. See also: Fractals, Spiral Path.

Spiral Path / Fractal Spiral Path: Returning to core themes under changed conditions, deepening rather than completing one final ascent. Spiral Path is the default name; Fractal Spiral Path emphasizes nested recursion across body, psyche, relationship, and world. See also: Integration.

Strange Attractor: In dynamical systems, a bounded structure toward which trajectories evolve without exact repetition. Here it offers a speculative metaphor for persistent life themes, not evidence that development obeys one physical model.

Spirituality, Sexuality, Mythology & Ethics

Aftercare: Post-intensity support such as warmth, nourishment, rest, or relational contact, with deliberate return and integration. It is an ethical requirement of high-intensity work. See also: Law of Cost, Integration.

Archetypal Body: The dimension where symbols, roles, and inherited story-patterns organize perception, behaviour, and meaning, bridging personal psyche and collective myth. See also: Five Energetic Bodies.

Asha: Avestan aša, a Zoroastrian term for truth and rightness or ordered reality. The book borrows it for integrity and life-serving coherence reinforced into structure, not as a summary of that theology.3 See also: Druj, Law of Integration.

Axis of Being: The inner cross of vertical coherence through the Five Energetic Bodies and horizontal engagement with others and ordinary life. Its crossing point is the Serene Center; the Living Cross pictures this meeting of embodiment and relationship. See also: Axis Mundi.

Axis Mundi: The mythic world axis joining underworld, earth, and heaven. Its outer cosmological symbolism is distinct from the inner, embodied Axis of Being. See also: Yggdrasil.

Blast Radius Check: A pre-action scan of likely force, who is exposed, and whether containment matches the impact, especially under unequal power. See also: Proportional Responsibility.

Boundaries: Communicated limits protecting safety, capacity, and integrity. They name what a person will participate in and what action protects the limit. See also: Living-Consent, Values / Guiding Value.

Boundary Holder (Keeper of Eros): The Keeper’s safety face: an available “No,” stop condition, and capacity limit that make a trustworthy “Yes” possible. See also: Keeper of Eros.

Coherence: Difference held in corrigible relationship across body, evidence, conduct, relationship, consequence, and scale. Independent agreement increases warrant under scrutiny but remains defeasible. Internal consistency alone can sustain a false, self-sealed story. In a group, coherence allows difference, feedback, and repair without forcing agreement; clear agreements and responsibility proportionate to power sustain it. Consecrator of Union: The Keeper’s union face, tending the changes intimacy leaves in bodies, trust, and memory through care, repair, or clean release. See also: Keeper of Eros.

Creator–Destroyer: Creative emergence and necessary dissolution, integrated by the Dragon. Its fuller archetypal distinction appears in the Glossary of Archetypes.

Crucible: A held space where pressure and paradox refine being through pacing and integration; suffering alone supplies no such vessel. See also: Integration.

Dragon: The Serpent’s power integrated into ethical, embodied wisdom across the Five Energetic Bodies. A vessel for source rather than source itself, the Dragon hosts temporary archetypal currents without possession and carries intensity without treating it as truth. Dragon’s Fire: Awakened, integrated life-force carried with ethics and wisdom. It can resonate with Kundalini in some readings but is neither its translation nor a claimed stage of that tradition-specific concept. See also: Eros Body, Kundalini.

Druj: Avestan druj, falsehood or deceptive disorder opposing aša. Borrowed here for self-deception and recursive harm reinforced into structure, describing patterns rather than anyone’s essence.4 See also: Asha, Law of Integration.

ECC lens: An ethical risk lens for how Ecstasy, Community, and Catharsis are held in intense or group work. See also: Living-Consent.

Egregore: In modern Western occult usage, an entity evoked by group energies.5 The book adapts this as a symbolic systems metaphor for a group mind or collective pattern, not a literal spirit taxonomy.

Eros Body: Desire, aliveness, emotion, and relational charge, including but exceeding sexuality. The Keeper of Eros stewards this dimension through the Law of Cost. See also: Five Energetic Bodies.

Ethical Shadow: Human and systemic harm from power without accountability: coercion, manipulation, and conditions that distort consent or repair. It is distinct from cosmological unknowns and metaphysical source. See also: Dark Entangled, Structural Leverage.

Five Energetic Bodies: Form Body, Eros Body, Soul Body, Archetypal Body, and Void Body: the book’s primary map of flesh, vitality, psyche, archetypal pattern, and personal capacity for contact with the Void. These dimensions interpenetrate; they are neither a hierarchy nor five separate selves.

Flame Liberator: The Keeper’s vitality face: charge inhabited from within before it becomes performance, pursuit, or demand for another person’s aliveness. See also: Keeper of Eros.

Flow: Receptivity, attunement, adaptation, and yielding without disappearing. It is a capacity, not a gender or moral rank, and differs from psychological task-absorption or “flow state.” Distortion loses contour through diffusion or appeasement. See also: Structure.

Focus–Flow–Feeling Check: Reads attention’s width, response’s flexibility, and whether feeling is available enough to notice and choose. It helps select staying, slowing, or stepping down in intensity. Available capacity can be soft or firm; the check is descriptive, not a preferred regulated appearance. See also: Spectrum of Self-Presence.

Form Body: Physical and neurobiological experience: breath, posture, sensation, and autonomic state. It often supplies the practical floor for safety and pacing without ranking above the other bodies. See also: Somatic Intelligence.

Holy Whore: See Mirror of Reclamation.

Keeper of Eros: Adult stewardship between repression and dissolution. Eros draws consciousness into encounter beyond the ego’s plan; the Keeper holds it with consent, consequence, and care through Mirror of Reclamation, Flame Liberator, Boundary Holder, and Consecrator of Union. These faces are functions, not stages. See also: Law of Cost.

Law of Cost: What is awakened creates physiological and relational consequence requiring consent, pacing, aftercare, and needed repair. Cost names finitude and consequence, not purchase, entitlement, or scorekeeping. Consequences can arrive late without becoming moral verdicts. See also: Aftercare.

Living Cross: See Axis of Being.

Mirror of Reclamation: The Keeper’s reclamation face, confronting sexual shame, false purity, and exiled otherness. The Holy Whore is its charged, surgical, time-bound imaginal form, not a permanent identity or licence for transgression. See also: Keeper of Eros.

Power: Capacity to create effect through action, consequence, and change. It is morally neutral; ethics concerns how it is exercised and answered for. See also: power-over / Power-Under / power-with.

power-over / Power-Under / power-with: power-over is overt, real hierarchy, capable of responsible use or abuse. Power-Under is covert leverage from claimed powerlessness, identified through repeated conduct and its effects rather than distress alone. power-with is genuinely equal authority in the relevant decision. Responsibility for covert leverage does not erase a hierarchy or relieve its authority-holder of greater structural duties. See also: Proportional Responsibility.

Prism of Impact: A lens for impact emerging through sender behaviour and power, receiver history and state, and shared context. Intent is the sender’s aim; the Beam is observable behaviour, including tone, timing, and leverage. The Prism names the irreducible relational boundary and whole encounter, not the receiver alone. Impact is what lands; Refraction is the interpretation emerging through that encounter.

Refraction occurs even in good faith and does not by itself establish malice or apportion blame. The model serves self-reflection and repair, never dismissal of harm. Authority-holders answering reports about themselves follow Structural Leverage, not interpretations of the reporter.

Proportional Responsibility: Greater leverage entails stricter scrutiny, oversight, and ownership of impact. The required response can be repair, consequence, redesign, boundary, distance, or exit. See also: Structural Leverage.

Reality Tether: Staying with observable facts while acknowledging divergent experience and holding a boundary against false confession or surrendered perception. It grounds the self rather than winning a debate. Authority-holders must not adjudicate their own reported conduct. See also: Structural Leverage.

Repair: Addressing harm through acknowledgement, apology, possible amends, and changed conduct where truthful contact remains possible. Unsafe or coercive contact can require a boundary or exit instead. See also: Accountability, Clean Severance.

Repair Protocol: Acknowledge impact; listen; reflect back; own one’s part and apologize; ask what repair would involve; follow through or renegotiate clearly. A demand for false confession is not repair. See also: Repair, Reality Tether.

Sovereignty: Ethical autonomy and authorship of a life, able to change form without betraying principle or escaping accountability. See also: Authenticity, Dragon.

Serpent (Archetype): Raw, unintegrated life-force before it becomes vessel: surge, desire, fear, or buried shutdown. See also: Dragon.

Soul Body: The organized personal psyche: memory, meaning, narrative identity, values, conscience, intuition, and responsible choice. The golden thread is witnessing attention moving through it, not its owner or the source of memory.

Values / Guiding Value: Chosen priorities that give action its criteria. A boundary protects a value; competing values require judgement about context, role, consequence, and what one can honestly own. See also: Soul Body, Integrity.

Spectrum of Self-Presence: A capacity map from numbness, flooding, or fusion toward witnessing, self-led, and essence-level presence. It describes degrees of contact, not moral rank. See also: Focus–Flow–Feeling Check.

Structure: Direction through boundary, sequence, timing, commitment, and form. A capacity rather than a gender or moral rank; its distortion becomes rigidity or brittle control. See also: Flow.

Structural Leverage: Amplification through role, money, status, platform, or control of a room. Greater leverage increases responsibility. While role-based leverage remains active, authority-holders must not begin or continue erotic or romantic involvement. Ending a session, course, or retreat does not itself end the leverage.

When their conduct is reported, they must set down frameworks that interpret the reporter, step back, and leave access to recourse unobstructed. Formal independent oversight governs where available; otherwise the strongest scrutiny beyond direct influence is needed, with its limits named. Threshold: A gateway between states, worlds, or identities requiring consent, courage, and containment. Forced passage and indefinite limbo both violate it.

Wise Facilitator: A role standard of discernment, care, clear scope, Living-Consent, supervision, and accessible feedback. It confers no superior identity or self-certified authority. Reported conduct remains subject to Structural Leverage.
